Much Ado About Noting

by Chris Maddera on December 9, 2004

Todd was in town last week. Among the bounty of booty he brought back for us from Japan was a plain pocket-size travel moleskine notebook (for me). It’s been sitting here for over a week now, and I still have no idea what to do with it. It’s a great little notebook, and being a list-writing, office-supply-craving kind of guy I am, I really want to use this thing for noting something worthwhile.

One of things I had considered was using it to write down the stores where I find other notebooks I would like to buy and how much they cost. That hardly seems worthy of such a thing. These were the same kinds of notebooks that Vincent van Gogh, and Henry Jones, Sr. (Indiana Jones’s dad) used to scribble in.

Sure, jotting down notes in the quest for the Holy Grail would be a great use for it, but that’s basically all I have. Okay, I have a notebook, so I guess I’m off to look for the Holy Grail.

Note #1: December 9, 2004

The hunt for Jesus’ juice glass goes on. So far, extensive searching has determined that it is NOT between the couch cushions…despite my wife’s claim that that’s where everything seems to wind up.

Also, check for Mad Libs on back of Bill of Rights.

Well, if I decide what to use it for, I’ll let you know. In the meantime, I’m open to suggestions.

My calendar has cryptic messages scribbled on it on various dates, such as “dentist app. at 3:30,” and “hair app. at 2:30.” Of course, it’s all code for the secret project I’m doing for the CIA.
